At J & A Farms we believe in giving you more. So goes this year's sale title:

"5th Annual More Bling for Your Buck Club Calf Sale"

We started in 2005 and continue as a family oriented operation. Starting with 15 head of crossbred females, we now have about 40 head of mostly Maine & Shorthorn influenced cows. Most of these females are old show heifers.  We AI extensively and started a small ET program in 2011. Jeff maintains accurate breeding & calving records and routinely shares a peak at them.

We started out just planning on having a couple of good ones for our kids but it turns out with 40 head you have more than a couple of good ones. You can't keep all of them and with only Allison left showing, well, you shouldn't pass up seeing what will be for sale.

Early on our calves sold private treaty. Everyone wanted first pick of the calf crop. The only fair way was to offer them all to everyone at the same time and our annual sale was born. The 3rd Saturday of April of each year was picked and we have kept that date ever since.

Since we started, we have showed and sold over 65 champions and are adding more in 2012.

We try to start you on the right path for a champion. We breed'em and break'em so all you have to do is feed'em right and treat'em like a champion. We cut the bulls (no banding), tattoo the heifers, ear tag, wean, vaccinate twice (call Jeff for details), worm twice, install magnets, dehorn, break to tie, clip and hoof trim prior to the sale. We do all this and start the floor price at a reasonable amount. To top it off we'll feed your whole crew lunch that day just for showing up. But I'm not supposed to advertise that.

If you purchase a calf from us we will help you with a feed plan for your calf as needed.
